HELLO AND WELCOME!
ABOUT ME
Originally from Atlanta, GA, I moved to LA at age 19 seeking adventure, art, independence, and the sweet California sun!
I have a passion for ornate jewelry & fashion, decorating & organizing, eating yummy food, and singing. I prefer vanilla to chocolate, and like lemon in my water. ;)
I share my story below in the hopes that I will have the good fortune of inspiring someone, somewhere, to pursue something creative and new. Thank you for visiting...
BACKGROUND
Growing up, and for the first 17 years of my life, I worked as a commercial print model and voiceover actress. I have always enjoyed a deep passion for art and creative expression! The challenges I met in school growing up were among my greatest struggles. An unexpected change of course hit when I began college. I fell in love with learning.
My most powerful collegiate take aways were: I had the creativity to overcome my SELF-PERCEIVED intellectual shortcomings, and the DEPTH to overcome my fears.
After finishing my Master's degree in Educational Psychology, I set off into the field of Education, where I thought I would remain, until I found Business Development and Human Resources (more accurate statement: Human Resources found me).
My career began as an Academic Advisor at The Art Institute in Hollywood (where I subsequently fell further in love with all things creative). I then suddenly and unexpectedly needed to take a leave of absence to care for my Mom. This became my first exposure to HR.
Currently I manage the Human Resources department for an aspirational Company,
Nfinity Athletic! I love my job - AND - I love my creative side adventure with IBD🌻
INSPIRATION
I am fortunate enough to be able to call my mom, my best friend. January of 2013 I received a phone call that my mom was in the hospital. Days later I was on a flight back to Atlanta, and did not leave her side for six months. My life as I knew it was about to radically change. My mom Barbara was the most VIBRANT, fun, loving, intelligent, savvy, courageous, and extraordinarily beautiful person (inside & out) that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I would not have wished to be anywhere but by her side for one moment during those impossible months. After a six year battle with ovarian cancer (most of which was filled with joy and incredible times among the hardship and pain), this unyielding disease took the life of my sweet mommy.
Barbara Wolin Sharony departed into G-d's loving arms late May 2013, she was 65 years young.
I have since made many VOWS to myself ~ and a commitment to a path. A path that better feeds my soul ~ one of fearlessness, health, and creativity! Through the pain, I now have the courage to approach life and my career with more freedom. Honoring myself, and my mom, by pursuing what feels right day by day without fear of failure. Thus leading me to create InspireBeautyLA: a blog about food (just for fun) - and most distinctly -
Inspire Beauty Designs: my online jewelry boutique.
